Amey Jane Patterson was born on April 3rd, 1793 in South Carolina. Many of Amey's descendants say that she was born in the Camden District of York county, SC. Another possibility would be the 96th District of Pendleton which was where her parents were married and where the family was in 1790 when the census was taken. 

On April 15, 1815 Amey Jane was married to William D. Kincaid in Haywood Co., NC. The Kincaids had also lived in York Co., SC during the 1780's and 1790's. William was born about 1796, possibly on April 5th. His parents were James Kincaid and Susannah Black. William's mother (Susannah Black Kincaid) and Amey Jane's mother (Margaret Black Patterson) were sisters, therefore William and Amey Jane were 1st cousins.

William and Amey Jane had the following children:

8. Martha Ann Kincaid; ca. 1833-after 1860

The Kincaids settled in Fannin Co., Ga. William died on March 3, 1876 in Morganton, Ga (Fannin Co.). Amey Jane lived until 1889. They are buried in the old Antioch Church Cemetery in Fannin Co., Ga.
