John Patterson Kincaid was born March 20, 1819 in Haywood Co., NC. On September 29, 1845 he married Nancy Chastain Jennings, in Rabun Co., Ga. Nancy was the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Chastain Jennings. John and Nancy had at least 9 children, as follows:

John and Nancy are both buried at Bethlehem Baptist Ch. Cem., Lower Young Cane, Union Co., Ga. John died March 23, 1879 and Nancy died May 10, 1899.
