Joseph Black Patterson, Jr. was born ca. 1811/12 in Haywood Co., NC. On September 04, 1842 he married Mary "Pollie" Denton in Cherokee Co., Ga. Pollie was born ca. 1811 in GA, the daughter of John and Hannah McCord Denton.

Joseph and Pollie had at least six children, as follows:

Joseph and at least two of his sons served in the Civil War. Joseph died in 1862 at Edward's Station, Miss. Joseph and two of his brothers died in the war. His sons John and Joseph also served in the war. Pollie was still living in 1870. I do not know where they are buried.
